Lyanna Austin is a London-born singer-songwriter, composer, recording artist and vocal educator whose music blends soul, gospel, R&B and contemporary influences. Raised in North West London in a Caribbean household, her musical journey began in the church, where she developed a deep appreciation for powerful vocals, rich harmonies and authentic storytelling. Inspired by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy and Imogen Heap, Lyanna has developed a distinctive sound that combines soulful expression, musical creativity and heartfelt lyricism.
With over 15 years of professional experience in the music industry and a Master's degree in Professional Practice, specialising in Voice Pedagogy, Lyanna has built a diverse career spanning music education, songwriting, live performance and professional recording. Her work as a session vocalist, composer and vocal arranger has contributed to productions for television and international media, while her experience as a gospel choir director has seen her lead and collaborate with professional vocal ensembles. She is also the founder of Symphony Music Academy and the creator of the Empowered Singer Method™, reflecting her commitment to developing the next generation of confident, skilled and expressive vocalists.
Alongside her professional achievements, Lyanna continues to develop her own artistry, exploring themes of faith, identity, love, resilience and personal growth. Her songwriting draws from personal experiences, offering an honest reflection of life's challenges, discoveries and triumphs. Songwriting, Composition & Sync Licensing
As a singer-songwriter, composer and topline writer, I create original music across gospel, R&B, neo-soul, pop and contemporary Christian genres. My work includes songwriting, topline writing and music for television, film and media, with international sync placements including BBC's EastEnders and The One Show, Home and Away, and Netflix's Love Is Blind across the UK, Mexico, Sweden, France and Brazil. I collaborate with artists, producers and music publishers to create expressive, high-quality music that brings creative visions to life.
Choir Arrangements & Remote Recording
As an experienced session vocalist, vocal arranger and gospel choir director, I specialise in creating rich harmonies, bespoke choir arrangements and professional vocal recordings for artists, producers, churches and music production companies. Drawing on my background in gospel, soul, R&B and contemporary worship, I offer remote lead and backing vocals, layered harmonies, vocal production and choir direction, helping you achieve an authentic, polished sound for your next recording, live performance or media project.
